“Robert Gibson is our consultant of choice when something significant or ‘tricky’ needs to change. We have worked with him over many years and he always delivers in a quality way – often by bringing gravitas flavoured with a light touch. “

Robert GibsonROBERT GIBSON

“I used to think that my job as a leader was to quickly create alignment, harmony and general agreement about aims and objectives and what must be done to achieve the task or project. Well yes, but many experiences have helped me reconsider the absolute benefit and joy of diversity and difference and not to ignore variation which is at the core of humanity. What I know is that difference, disagreement and sometimes, even conflict, are essential ingredients in achieving a quality result. And that therein lies the challenge!”

Robert has been a team member, supervisor, manager and leader throughout all stages of his working life. He also has a wealth of other relevant inputs including public appointments in the arts as well as jazz playing and radio broadcasting. He has experience in Training, Development and HR roles in Manufacturing, Wholesale and Retail for the Cooperative Movement; HR, Training and Development for ICI Fibres then senior management in ICI Chemicals and Polymers, latterly as architect and leader for global Total Quality education and workforce engagement.

He has a reputation for working in a sensitive, client-centered way to surface issues that need thorough attention. In order to build a trusting and positive climate, he creates a supportive and challenging relationship (in whatever the development setting) so that true ownership of and commitment for the desired change is achieved.

Robert is based in the UK.
